13,807

That's the number of files currently residing in my iPhoto library. Do I need all of them? Probably not, and weeding through it is one of those ongoing projects of mine, just like maintaining my music library (17,685 files and counting). I went digging in iPhoto this afternoon to find a nice photo that reminded me of Fall. We've had a nice run of a few days with "fall" weather (such as we get in Los Angeles) but its about to disappear into a weekend of 90 degree heat. Luckilly I'll be headed to lands northward where it should be much more reasonable, albeit still too warm for this time of year. Anyway, there were a few candidates but this is my favorite:This is Thanksgiving weekend on my Grandma's farm six years ago, and it looks exactly like late November is supposed to feel.

picture time

As much as I love my new video/still camera, its creating this whole new data stream that I have to deal with now. Its a good thing, because it means I'm using the camera, but it sometimes means that I get backed up in importing, organizing and editing things.

Krysta threw a baby shower today for our good friend Jessica, and there are some lovely photos from that. However, this post is not for those (see above)

Instead, here are some photos from my parent's visit, a couple of baseball games, and a Memorial Day BBQ. Enjoy!

j and j

Here are two of our favorite people, James and Jess. In addition to being very helpful on the wedding weekend, James composed Krysta's processional and led the recessional song, Jess did a reading at the ceremony, and on top of all that they hosted the LA reception this past weekend. So they're pretty great, and here they are looking happy, as usual.

quartet

Here's Susan, Christie, Jeff, and Ben singing an arrangment my dad put together of an Irish Blessing. They did a great job, especially considering that they thought there was going to be an octet instead of a quartet. They all sang together back in the day at SHS, so they pulled it together like pros. It sounded great, so thanks guys!

les fleurs

This is Krysta's "Yeah that's gonna work!" face. She's putting together the bridesmaids' bouquets on the day of the wedding. She learned a lot about flowers through this whole process, and I think she still notices lavender and purple flowers whever she goes. We were really pleased with how they turned out, and you can see how nice they looked with the dresses in the photo of the wedding party that is up on the "Photos" page.

susan and tricia

Here's my sister next to another very helpful person, my dear friend Tricia. Her dad, who presided over the exchange of rings in the ceremony, was the first preacher I remember, and our families were tight back in the day. Without Tricia and her mom just jumping right in to help, the tent would not have looked nearly as beautiful as it did. So thanks to her and the whole family, all of whom we were so happy to have as a part of the celebration.

Our L.A. reception is this weekend, so there may not be too many more photos up until Monday. But soon we'll have a link to Emily's pictures and you can enjoy them all at once!

karla and the plants

Speaking of helpful people, this is Karla. She designed the beautiful landscaping around the ceremony site, and did a lot of the planting and heavy lifting to make her design a reality. In addition to being so helpful, she's also a ski jumper, and a lot of fun to be around! Thanks, Karla!

toasted

Jeff must have said something funny in his toast. I can't imagine what, though. He's never done that before. Susan, Doug, and Emily clearly found it funny as well.

There are some great pictures of all of the wonderful people who helped make the tent and tables look this pretty, and I'll have some of those up soon.

the dress

For whatever reason, people seem to like pictures of Krysta in the dress, and of the dog. This one has both! Here Krysta's talking with her step-mother Rose Mary, who is holding the altar flower that was placed in honor of Krysta's father. Tofu is just tagging along, livin' the life.

here she comes

Thats me! Realizing that the most amazing woman in the world is about to marry me. It was a nice moment. To the left is the Reverend Ron Holland, a cousin of mine who was the "official" officiant. We were so glad to have his wisdom and spirituality involved in the ceremony. On my right is my best man, Jeff. I've known him since we were 11 or something, so having him standing next to me meant a lot.

This picture was taken by Harv, who really got some great stuff during the ceremony. Thanks, Harv!

krysta's smile

Well we now have all of the pictures from the wonderful Ms. Emily Weirich, and while she's still doing some fine tuning and touch-ups before we make them available for people to order prints, I thought I'd just start posting some of my favorites. I'll probably wait until I've posted several here and then add them to the photos page.

Krysta has the best smile in all of the wedding pictures. Here she is getting into the dress before the ceremony, with some help from her sister Mieka, and Kathleen.

More soon!

invitations in the mail

Invitations are on their way!

If you've been to this site before, be sure to check out the travel info section as we've updated it recently. We've also added an RSVP link on the navigation area, so you can click that to let us know if you're coming to the big event. We'll be updating more frequently now, so keep an eye out for the new stuff. As always, drop us an email if you have any questions.

A big thank you to everyone who came over to help us put them together. We couldn't be happier with how they look, and without all of your contributions we would probably still be gluing and folding. Here are a few pictures from the assembly party:
